My program of research broadly focuses on interpersonal relationships. In my research, I take an interdisciplinary approach that draws on research, theory, and methods from social and cognitive psychology to address questions ranging from relationship formation to relationship maintenance to personal consequences of relationships, such as:
What are the factors that shape impressions of newly acquainted individuals? And, to what extent do we revise these impressions as we get to know a person?
What are the processes that contribute to formation of affectional bonds in romantic relationships?
What are the processes that affect maintenance of romantic relationships?
How do romantic relationships contribute to emotion regulation and psychological well-being?
